Contribution on Incompact3D

Incompact3D is a sixth-order finite difference solver for Navier Stokes equation. The forces calculation subroutine was expanded for evaluation of Lift and Drag for 3D immersed bodies using Control Volume approach.

Comparison between NEk5000 and Xcompact3D

A numerical experiment was conducted for internal comparison to compare NEK5000 and Xcompact3d code in terms of performance and accuracy. The flow over cylinder at Re=40 was choosen as the benchmark case. Along with accuracy, the effect of domain size on the accuracy of simulation was tested.

UHF/VHF Standalone Antenna Mast Retraction Mechanism

A standalone antenna mast retarction mechanism was designed for the SSPACE Labs at IIST. The antenna is frequently (usually twice a week) lowered from its usual standing position for maintainance purposes. Lowering the antenna with bare hands is posing difficulty and risks antenna for damages. Thus, a mechanism was proposed to solve the following issues.

Thrust Vectoring Nozzles of Sukhoi Su-30 MKI

TThe mechanism of the Thrust Vectoring Nozzles of Sukhoi Su-30 MKI was studied under this project as mechanical report. A CAD model of the mechanism was also made in Fusion 360 and it was simulated to understand the mechanism in deep. The project was done as a course project for Basic Engineering Lab.

Analysis of Globemaster C-17

The performance of C17 Globemaster was analyzed in this report. The various performance parameters was presented by the manufacturer and experimentally tested by operators were compared to the values we obtained from a theoretical analysis. The theoritically obtained values were in very close to the claimed values.
